Re: Daily Abdominals

Rule number one, don't anchor feet when doing sit-ups. I have done them in the past with knees bent and feet flat, this is used as a core strength test.

Re: Daily Abdominals

Knees are straight but not locked out. No jerking like I've seen some do, always control.

Daily Abdominals

Recently I've been doing daily abdominal work, toe touches, side bends, full sit-ups and full leg overs. Also that exercise where you lay on your belly with hands behind your back and lift the upper body up.

Re: Vegan Options

Nowadays there's a lot of vegan meat substitutes, beef, chicken, turkey and even fish. Some that are vegetarian may contain dairy or egg, so you should read the labels.

mind/muscle focus

Generally I do one set each, I don't focus on doing a load of push-ups but more muscle tensing. When I do something like a bicep curl, I'm not trying to mimic a heavy weight when applying resistance so much but the resistance is to aid muscle tensing focus.

Re: Senior Health Update

The nature trail we walk on has a sign posted at one end warning of coyotes, coming out at another location a sign warned of possible ticks. I've had one bite me once whilst gardening at my mother in-laws who lives in a small Ontario farming town, they have a lot of mosquitoes there. I got the tick ...

Re: Senior work out

Did the stairs 2 at a time to the 15th (actually 13 flights) floor today, haven't done it for awhile, that was after a leisurely walk through a nearby river parkway and old neighbourhood, nice warm day got my shorts on and just t-shirt. Some exercise I do everyday as discipline and then some variety...

Re: only a more moderate fast would work

I think doing the Daniel meal plan you can eat as much as you want as long as it's whole plant base food, you would still get your needs, just only drinking water would be the hard part but fresh juice would count.
