My Success Story

Soon to be 69 and in great health. I have exercised all my life and sometimes my jobs have been part of my fitness, like my last job for 13 years was general labourer for a builder. No back or joint issues, still very flexible and have excellent balance.

helping hand

Walking down a street in my neighbourhood the other day was an old fellow sitting on the front step to a small 3 floor apartment building. He was saying something and at first thought he was just saying hi but then realized he was sitting on the step but couldn't get up to open the front door. It wa...

Re: Hot choc / cocoa

I noticed in the supermarket today they had unsweetened almond and cashew m*lk with 8g of protein a cup. Also dark chocolate oat m*lk, unsweetened and unflavoured oat m*lk is really good tasting. Bought the almond and cashew unsweetened, reading the label found that the higher protein was from added...

The Other Olympics

A couple of events not in the Olympics but I would find inspirational, in China they have Tai Chi competitions. That lady moved to a care home but we have another woman on our floor who my wife takes out for a short walk everyday, she's on oxygen and uses a walker, has many health problems. We also do some shopping for her as she's not mobile much. I see many older folks who just never gave a thought about he...

Hot choc / cocoa

Back when I was a kid in the 1960's we didn't buy hot chocolate powder, just plain cocoa and add sugar and milk. I have been buying chocolate oat m*lk and add a teaspoon of plain cocoa to it, mix the cocoa with a little hot water then add the chocolate oat m*lk and microwave to hot. I discovered a b...

Under the table

I've sometime put a broom handle across 2 chair backs to do reverse push-ups but that can be dodgy as chair can tip. Then I got under our solid dining table and did some reverse push-ups there and it worked really well, great for the forearms.

Re: Heat

The West Coast of Canada was hit hard with very hot weather 50°C/122°F, here in Ontario we had a couple of hot days but nothing we couldn't handle since summer here is usually hot and humid.
