The wife and I live in an apartment building with many older folks, it's very social and help around a lot. The woman who moved in next door is a recent widower and just had a mild stroke, so we help her out often.

Today we went to the supermarket to buy some healthy food (and some unhealthy also... ).

Outside of the supermarket's door was sitting an elderly woman asking for some money.

When we were leaving from the supermarket we gave some money to the lady.

We had bought a pack of 3 vanilla cream desserts. My spouse, Georgia, after giving the old lady the money, decide to give her also one of our creams.

Not only that but, thinking about how the old lady will not be able to eat the cream without a spoon, he took a plastic ice cream spoon from a kiosk, about 100 ft further, and returned back and gave it to the old lady, so she will be able to eat her cream.

helping hand

Walking down a street in my neighbourhood the other day was an old fellow sitting on the front step to a small 3 floor apartment building. He was saying something and at first thought he was just saying hi but then realized he was sitting on the step but couldn't get up to open the front door. It wasn't much effort for me to give him a lift up and he thanked me.
