Do You do them in many sets?

Do you do them pyramid style?

Do you do them morning and evening"

Do you do them just in the morning?

Do you do them just in the evening?

Please post your preferred method.

I work on a construction site 4 days a week, so my workout days are on my days off, Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday, sometimes a Monday (long weekends). I don't have a set time but usually before noon, I sometimes do something in the morning on my work days.

I do the perpetuals every other day. The other days I do lessons 1-12. The following is how I do them:
exercise1: because of my dislocating shoulders I lean against the kitchen counter and do 2 sets of 30
excercise2: 20 each side
excercise4: 30
excercise5: 10
excercise6: 2 sets of 30 each side
excercise7: 10 each side
excercise8: 50
While I am at work I will also do exercise's 1,5,6 and 7
I have been very pleased so far. I am 63 and have been doing DT for 1year 2.5 months. Look under one year review for my results by ttiros1.
good luck!! I believe this is the best system for TOTAL health..........Tom

Bridge, I will lay down what I am currently doing. It is important to mention that I have divided my workout days in push/pull days & legs/core days. I do each every other day in the evenings, having a total of 3 each per week. In the mornings I always do the same exercises from Monday to Saturday, which I will also mention. By the way, I rest on Sundays. Also I have added some holds from yoga and gymnastics.
  • Morning Workout (Monday to Saturday)
  • Exercises 1 & 2 from lesson 5 for the spine: Exercise 1, 1 set of 40 reps & Exercise 2, 1 set of 20 reps
  • Exercise 5: 1 set of 20 reps per side
  • Exercise 7: 1 set of 10 reps
  • Upward Bow Pose:1 set of 30 seconds
  • L-sit hold: 1 set of 30 seconds
  • Half Lord Of The Fishes Hold: 1 set of 30 seconds per side
  • Evening Workout: Push/Pull Day (Monday, Wednesday, Friday)
  • Exercise 1 (more advanced):3 sets of 20 reps
  • Exercises 3, 4 & 5 from lesson 1 for the chest: 2 sets of 10 reps each
  • Wall Handstand Hold: 4 sets of 35 seconds
  • Pull-Ups: 2 sets of 10 reps
  • Exercise 6: 2 sets of 10 reps
  • Exercise 3 from lesson 9 for the upper arms: 2 sets of 10 reps
  • Fingertip Push-Ups: 2 sets of 5 reps
  • Two handed bar hang: 4 sets of 35 seconds
  • Exercise 9 from lesson 11 for the forearms: 2 sets of 5 sheets per hand
  • Evening Workout: Legs/Core (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday)
  • Exercise 2 (more advanced): 2 sets of 20 reps
  • Exercise 3 (more advanced): 2 sets of 25 reps
  • L-Sit Hold: 4 sets of 40 seconds
  • Diagonal Clutch Flag:3 sets of 6 seconds per side
  • Exercise 4 (more advanced): 2 sets of 20 reps
  • Exercise 8: 4 sets of 65 reps
  • Upward Bow Pushes: 2 sets of 10 reps (from floor to pose to floor one rep)
Please note that on some exercises I am trying harder variations than those in the course because I am working my way to been able to do single-limbed movements. Also, these numbers are for my last workout.

Tom, when you say "the others days I do lessons 1-12", do you mean: a) you do lessons 1 and 12 or b) you do selected exercises from lessons 1 to 12?

BTW, all you guys are very inspiring!!!

Tom, with kind of training and commitment, it does not come as a surprise your doctor's comment about your physique :D

I'm 71 and I began the Atlas program when I was 28. There have been times, sometimes as long as a couple years, when I've not done the course. But I keep coming back to it. I've tried weights, bodylastics cables, isometrics, you name it. But nothing has worked for me all around and over the years as the Charles Atlas routine. Keeping motivated is the problem for me, and I encourage you guys to find a way to stick with it. You normally do 3 sets? Mix it up with a couple days of 2 or even 1 set. Listen to your body -- GET PLENTY OF REST. Let's say there's an exercise I do 10 reps-- ok, if I'm tired or not motivated I'll do 4 reps, rest 30 seconds, 4 reps again, rest 30, etc. for 6, 7, 8 sets and that way get in some good work. Like some of you, I sometimes split the perpetual lesson doing 1/2 in the a.m., 1/2 at night. Now and then I do 1 set of each perpetual lesson exercise, but at the same time go through the course again from the beginning. I've also found that I love an early (5:15 a.m.) walk and I usually do some Atlas exercises while walking, e.g. wrists, shoulders, and other upper body exercises, just 1 set to "wake up", then do lunge-walks up a hill on the way home. Too much is made of pumping up to become huge like these steroid-loaded guys in the muscle mags. Atlas has them beat hands down because it's a balanced, health & fitness approach to building an all around body. Good luck!
