New Guy Here !

Post by Phillip J »

Hi guys ! After lurking for quite a while I finally took the plunge and registered after ordering the mini- course. A little background; I was your typical gym rat some 20 or so years ago but, like many others, fell out of it for various reasons and have never been able to get back.
2 months ago, at the age of 45, I had a heart attack and had to have a splint put in. Now getting back into shape is not an option, it's a matter of life and death.
I began walking as soon as I could after returning home from the hospital; just a few blocks at first but I am now walking a couple miles, not mention the walking I do on my part-time job at Lowes. The cardio is going to benefit me more than anything right now but I knew I had lost a lot of strength over the years also which is how I ended up here on the Atlas site.
I must say that I am quite impressed with the mini-course. The nutritional info contains is pretty generic, more common sense than anything else, but the workout is great; add a couple of exercises for back and triceps and you have a full body workout.
I am going to begin by doing the workout a few days a week until I get the strength to workout everyday. Changing my diet has also been a requirement and not really as hard as I thought. I don't eat anything fried anymore or many sweets and I can already tell the difference. I allow myself a " cheat " meal every so often and still enjoy a couple of cups of coffee in the mornings but I have come a long way.
JUst wanted to say hi and hope to chat with you guys here on the forum in the future !

Hi Phillip, welcome to the Dynamic Tension forum.

Getting the original Dynamic Tension course will give you plenty of other exercise options, Lessons for each body part like arms, back etc.

Hello Phillip and welcome to the forums.

I wish you no more health problems, at least until the age of 145.

I am a faithful Atlas student for the last 5 years and I have experience major
strength and health benefits, so I am sure that your health and strength will
improve also.

And never forget the Charles Atlas advice: "Train, don't strain"!
"Give every man more in use value
than you take from him in cash value;
then you are adding to the life of the
world
by every business transaction"
