The best thing I know to do here is for you to take a copy of the course, show it to your wife's doctor, and ask his opinion. If you can't go that, demonstrate the exercises in front of him.

My wife has a problem knee (arthritis) and is very reluctant to do deep knee bends, but I convinced her to try standing sideways to the kitchen counter, partially supporting herself with one are on the counter, then doing one 1/4 knee bend to see how it felt. If it increased her pain the next day then don't persist, but if it's ok then try 2 or try a half deep knee bend. Only the person can tell how he or she will be effected by an exercise. And from where I sit, I'd recommend seeing a Physical Therapist rather than an MD. Most docs aren't as well versed in how to cope with joint, tendon, etc. issues as PT's. Good luck!

Pt is the way to go I guess, trying to get my wife to do it again, she said some of the atlas moves I mentioned to her sound similar to PT.
