Thomas Manfre – 95 – Rest In Peace
June 27, 1923 – December 9, 2018
Tom Manfre, a Charles Atlas Champion, passed gently Sunday December 9, 2018 with his family by his side. Tom was a multi-talented athlete, Atlas Man, model, actor, Father and Grandfather.
Tom was born on June 27, 1923 at the age of 95. Up until the age of 94 he exercised daily. Tom had a quick wit and would always say “don’t just sit around, live your life to the fullest,” and he did just that.
"I felt like a kid in a candy store," Tom Manfre said after taking the Charles Atlas course in 1946. "I was thrilled! Charles Atlas put an arm around me and said, ‘God was good to me, and I'm sure he'll be good to you.'" Tom also spoke about Charles Atlas, saying “He gave me the confidence to conquer the world,” When Tom Manfre won the Mr. World contest at the age of 30, the first person he called to thank was Charles Atlas. Tom had an amazing relationship with everyone at Charles Atlas, Ltd.
Along with Dr. Vic Boff, Joe Marino, Tom was able to attend a gala event at the Smithsonian in 1998 that was dedicated to Charles Atlas.
“We spoke to him all the time and he will be deeply missed,” said Cynthia Soroka - Vice President Charles Atlas, Ltd.
“Tom was a man among men. There will never be another Tom Manfre. He was unique and he will always be remembered by us,” said Jeffrey C. Hogue, President Charles Atlas, Ltd.
