Walking in place
Hi everyone what do you all think of marching in places in place of walking outside when the harsh cold winter snow and ice don’t allow. No mall or anything else to walking indoors around. Lifting knees high using 2200 steps counting with one foot only per mile so 6600 steps for the 3 miles .

Re: Walking in place
11am -15°C Feels -25 doesn't stop me going out. At 7am I walk 15 minutes to the senior centre, yes pretty nippy. We've had a fair amount of snow this year SW Ontario and the dreaded ice pellets. We can walk pretty much everywhere, downtown, park walkways, even a nearby coffee shop. Me wife is into walking/hiking groups and out daily for 1 to 2 hours.
My apartment has an indoor pool and see some old blokes walking on the spot in the pool.
As well as walking on the spot you can walk forwards then backwards. You can also walk in a circle, then switch direction after awhile.
Do you have any stairs to tackle ?

Re: Walking in place
Me wife joined a lawn bowling club and goes 2 - 3 times a week, during winter they have indoors. Her team yesterday but cancelled coz of a bit of a snow blizzard and windy. She still has to get out of the apartment so we walked 20 mins to get a hotdog etc, then after stopped by the club, the snow had stopped and there was about 4 inches of snow, she had volunteered to help with shovelling snow and has a key. The walkway around the building is about 250 feet long and 5 foot wide, so pitched in with the snow clearing. The bowling club is closed next week and I think I've been Shanghaied to help haha! good workout and we have more snow today and next week.
Me wife who does a lot of regular walking and hiking bought Icer's, rubber thingy's that go onto boot soles, they have metal studs, not spikes.
